CompLexity, Evil Geniuses back in action tonight

The new-look Evil Geniuses return to action at 7 p.m. tonight as the CEVO "Counter-Strike 1.6" playoffs near.

Evil Geniuses (11-6) are currently in a three-way tie for second place. They can remain in second with a win over j1n (6-10).

They're 1-0 since the acquisition of stellar Southern California player Shaun "Hostile" Catron. He was traded from MoB Gaming last week for Scott "Evolution" Cavallero, who has taken a hiatus but had intentions of returning.

Evil Geniuses have won three in a row and four of five. It's their best run since they won five of six nearly a month ago.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles CompLexity takes on Frag Dominant in a match that likely will have lingering effects for both teams.

CompLexity (11-7) and Frag Dominant (10-8) are in fifth and sixth place in the CEVO standings, respectively. A compLexity win will catapult them into a shot at the No. 2 seed in the playoffs with a little more than a week left.

Frag Dominant needs a win to lock up a playoff berth.

The last time these two teams met, Frag Dominant fielded just four players and lost, 16-0. They accused compLexity of not being lenient enough to re-schedule, while compLexity claimed that Frag Dominant was trying to continually re-schedule.

CompLexity has won five straight, while Frag Dominant has lost four of five.
