Requiem ousted in iGames semifinals

In an epic, seven overtime affair, Team Requiem, the California representative in the iGames "Counter-Strike Source" tournament, was eliminated by Eximius Sports, 34-32 Sunday evening.

Requiem, playing at Howie's Game Shack in Mission Viejo, was one win away from reaching the championship tilt and a rematch against Devastation. However, they couldn't find a way to break through Eximius.

The match was tight throughout, as it was 6-6 at half and 12-12 at the end of regulation. From there, the teams traded 3-3 scores until the seventh overtime.

Eximius, a regular CEVO participant, is 4-1. They will play Devastation in the championship match, needing a win to force a second final.

Team Devasation, the representative out of Cornwall, N.Y., defeated Requiem in the winners bracket finals. The match was played on de_dust2.

Prior to that, Requiem won their first two contests, 13-10 and 13-3.

Devastation is 4-0 in the tournament so far, having won three today and just one match in the regional tournament on Saturday at Gamestation in Cornwall.
