Championship Gaming Series - Wednesday night matchups
Like Abbott and Costello. Like peanut butter and jelly. Like heartache and compLexity.
The Los Angeles Complexity remained winless on the season as the San Francisco Optx prevailed, 22-20 Wednesday night.

San Francisco improved to 6-5 on the season. Six was the magic number last year to reach the C.G.S postseason. However, because of the point differential San Francisco has gained up through Wednesday night (minus-3), they're not totally safe yet. If the Optx don't lose by 20 points to the Chicago Chimera in Monday's season finale, they're safe. And yes, there hasn't been a 20-point decision this season.
As for the team the Optx beat on Wednesday, it was another downer in a very long season. Complexity dropped to 0-10.
Los Angeles had a 7-2 lead after two games, thanks to strong performances by drivers C.J. Nelson and Javier Gutierrez (they went 1-2 in "Forza Motorsport 2), and "FIFA 08" player Felipe Stoyne.
San Francisco's "Counter-Strike Source" team then posted a 13-5 decision and never trailed the rest of the way.
In the other contest, 3D New York improved to 10-1 with a 22-19 win over the Chicago Chimera. New York will be the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Chicago, the defending champions, might not even get there.
The Chimera will have to post wins on Sunday and Monday to have any hope of reaching the postseason. At minus-23 in point differential, they currently don't qualify for any tiebreakers.
